Daniel's butler tries to wake up Daniel, who's asleep on the bowling alley floor in his house. He has a visitor. Eli steps into view and tells the butler he can leave. Eli shouts at Daniel to wake him, but Daniel barely reacts. Daniel finally stumbles to his feet and takes a swig from his flask as Eli makes himself a drink. Eli says he's been working in radio. Daniel downs liquor like it's water. Eli tells Daniel that Bandy finally died. Eli begins to gnaw on leftover meat from last night's dinner. Bandy's grandson wants to go to Hollywood and be a movie star. Eli wants to know if Daniel's interested in buying Bandy's land, one of the few undeveloped tracts around. Eli will broker the deal. Daniel says he'll only work with Eli, if Eli tells him that he's a false prophet and that God's a superstition. Eli isn't happy, but follow through on Daniel's instructions. Eli announces Bandy's land has been drilled. Daniel owns everything around Bandy's land and has harvested the oil through drainage.
