In a whorehouse Henry asks Daniel for money; Daniel give him some. Later around the campfire, Henry wakes up to see Daniel standing over him with a gun. Daniel asks a question about Fond du Lac, Henry claims not to remember. Daniel asks who Henry is and Henry confesses that he met Daniel's brother in King City and they became friends. Daniel's brother died of tuberculous and Henry took his brother's things and assumed his identity. Daniel kills Henry and buries him in a shallow grave.
