Charlie wakes up in Lola's dressing room. Lola thanks him for coming to her rescue as she dresses. Charlie realizes that Lola's a drag queen. Lola complains about the heel of her shoe snapping; it's not made to bear the weight of a man. She struggles to put on a different pair of boots. Charlie takes out a cobbler kit and lends Lola his shoe horn. Lola gets the shoes on and then goes on stage.
