Despondent, Charlie leaves Sampsons and gives a pair of Price's shoes to a beggar, telling him they will last a man a lifetime. Seeing some punks hassle a woman (Chiwetel Ejiofor), Charlie goes to rescue her. The woman has trouble getting away from the men, the heel on one of her thigh high red boots snaps. The woman takes off her boot to threaten the punks with it, but accidently hits Charlie in the face. He drops like a brick; the punks run away.
