Intercut between 2 scenes. Briggs (Peter Woodthorpe) arrives at Thornfield. Reverend Wood (Ralph Nossek) marries Jane and Mr. Rochester. Briggs, who's a lawyer interrupts the wedding, Mr. Rochester can't be married because he's already married. Mason steps forward as a witness to this fact. Mr. Rochester finally admits he's married.
