The recruits throw knives at a target. Tris is good and get bull's eyes. Will throws poorly and Eric tells him to retrieve a knife from the ground. When Will admits to being scared, he's made to stand in front of a target and have knives thrown at him by Four, if he flinches he'll be kicked out. Tris protests and is told to switch places with Will. Tris doesn't flinch as Four throws, even with a knife nicks her ear. Afterwards, Four warns her to be smart and says that he really could have hurt her if he wanted to.
