The red eye appears again. Meg finds Calvin strapped into the chair, but when she touches him, she sees Calvin's dream in which he's playing a basketball game and performing feats of unbelievable athleticism. He makes a crazy play to win the game before the referee blows the whistle and he suddenly wakes up from his slumber. Meg tells Calvin he's been drugged while Charles Wallace manages to free him from the metal clasps. Together they leave the room.
