Outside the cave, Mrs. Which and Mrs. Who instruct the children on what to do. Mrs. Whatsit hugs Charles Wallace before they go. The wind picks up, thunder claps, and clouds start to wisp around three glowing balls in the sky. Everyone holds hands and the world morphs into distorted streaks of colorful light. Charles Wallace drags his hand through the light, which glows like fire. The children continue to fly through the streaks of color, which turn into a sort of wave carrying them along. Mrs. Which disappears, leaving just the children in the light. They hold onto each other tight as the world gets darker and even more distorted.
