The winged horse runs towards a nearby cliff and takes off into flight with Meg, Charles Wallace and Calvin on its back. The massive wings flap as they fly over a mystical ocean with enormous rocks and stalagmites rising up from the surface. As they fly over the trees and beaches below, they see several other winged horses flying in formation. They continue on through the clouds towards a grand mountain in the distance. Charles Wallace has trouble breathing and Mrs. Whatsit instructs the children to use the flowers for air. They break through the clouds and ultimately land in a clearing atop the grand mountain.
