A shining light momentarily appears in the woods before disappearing. Meg's mom keeps the door open and all of a sudden the crow flies past her, directly into the house. Dana yelps and looks down to see that the crow has now turned into Mrs. Whatsit, an unusual woman with frizzy hair and layers of scarves. She greets Charles Wallace and walks through the kitchen, explaining about how she got there. Meg offers her some cocoa, which she enjoys thoroughly. Mrs. Whatsit rifles through the fridge before grabbing an apple from the counter. She moves back to the door and uses her special magical powers to open it without touching. She flies away, leaving heavy gusts of paper scattering wind in her wake. ANML
