Arthur goes into the courtyard where Gwain is training the men. He gives a speech about fighting and challenges Leontes to a sparring match. Guinevere and Ingraine watch from the hallway. The men fights hard, thrusting and parrying. There's a pause while Arthur gets his sword at Leontes thorat, but then Leontes pushes the sword away and the men continue to fight. Leontes gets Arthur at sword point, but then he lets Arthur go. As Leontes walks away, Arthur kicks him down admonishing the knights to understand when they've been beaten by a better man, but never give in. He holds a knife to Leontes' throat. Gwain praises him. Guinevere turns away from the scene, upset.
