In the alley, Millicent has Young Carolina and Georgia face each other holding knives and tells them to fight. Carolina advances towards Georgia, then stops and says they're not being raised right. Carolina takes Georgia's knife as Ted, their father, drives his truck into the alley. Ted puts down a basket with a baby in it and tells them it's their new sister, Maine. Ted drinks from a beer bottle, then drives away, leaving the baby, when Millicent comes back out. Carolina picks up the baby and tells her things are going to be different for her.
