Rottmayer gives Ray the metal piece. Ray tells Rottmayer that he breaks out of prisons, and that he suspects that Hobbes used his reports to make the prison escape proof and that he was set up. Ray asks Rottmayer to go back to "the box" as another favor. Rottmayer agrees, but says if he doesn't get out, he'll kill Ray. In the cafeteria, Ray explains how to break out to Rottmayer and says he thinks "the box" is a conduit. Rottmayer eats a piece of meat off of Ray's tray. Ray details how he sees the prison and that he thinks that it's underground. He says he thinks the floor in "the box" can be escaped through by heating the steel.
