At the police station, in a silent shot, Gabriel explains the situation to the officers and is released. He runs into Donna outside and tells her to stay away from him. Gabriel confronts Donna about Pete not being at the hospital and Donna tells him that Pete died the previous night. Gabriel still doesn't believe her, and Donna accuses him of coming to Wisconsin only for the story for his show. Donna falls in the middle of the road as a truck bears down on her. Gabriel starts to help her, but she pulls him down onto the road with her. Gabriel drags her off the road as the truck passes by. Gabriel walks away as Donna yells for him.
