Gabriel returns to his motel room and gets a call with only a strange sound at the other end. At the diner, Gabriel asks the waitress about Donna and Pete. The waitress only shows him pictures of Pete that they have up on the wall and doesn't help him. The waitress makes a call on a pay phone. Gabriel returns to Donna's house and finds it deserted. He breaks a window and enters the house. He goes upstairs to Pete's room and finds the Playboy magazine that he bought for him under his bed. Gabriel looks around Donna's room, picking up a framed picture. He hears a noise and sees a flashlight. Police officers enter the room and find Gabriel.
