Darwin sits in his study late at night writing. He looks at a scorpion specimen and imagines it comes to life and walks over his desk. Then he imagines all his specimens come alive. He hallucinates his house fills with leaves, winds blowing through, birds coming alive and fluttering. He wakes up from this nightmare the next morning, still at his desk.
