Rose drives the truck back home while Jack sleeps. When they arrive, he wakes up and meekly gets out. He hobbles into the house and walks weakly up the stairs, getting into bed. Then he has trouble breathing and has a heart attack. He begs Rose to forgive him and falls into unconsciousness.
