Friar Tucker, claiming he has liquor for the wedding, is allowed into the gates; he and Azeem get a keg of gunpowder into position. The rest of the band takes their assigned spots. The execution gets underway, Marion and Nottingham watching from a tower. As the condemned are brought out, one of the condemned, Wulf notices Will and attacks him, calling him traitor. Nottingham notices and questions Will, decrying that Will is also to be hanged. Since there's not a noose for Will, he is made to kneel with his head on a barrel to be beheaded, but as it turns out it's Azeem's powder keg, thereby putting the plan in jeopardy. Robin can't ignite the keg with Will on it. Wulf is hung, Robin shoots the rope, saving the boy's life, but also revealing to all present that he is alive. Robin shoots the barrels, causing an explosion. Nottingham's soldiers fight Robin's men, Robin saves Will's life. The condemned men are rescued. Nottingham makes off with Marion as Azeem exhorts the townspeople to join in and fight with Robin Hood.
