Jake is partially paralyzed and climbs through the house to the phone. He calls 911 but when he gets there, he notices Timmy put the playing cards near the phone. Jake doesn't respond when the operator asks who's there. Sylvie then shows up with the Sheriff's gun. Jake has figured it all out: Sylvie was the one who stabbed their parents. She had been abused her whole life. She's going to shoot Jake, but then Timmy stands in front of him. Timmy asks Sylvie not to shoot. She puts the gun down and hugs him.
