Magua still has Alice captive; he marches her along a cliff. Uncas attacks them and they fight. Magua wins. From afar, Chingachgook and Hawkeye watch as Uncas is killed on top of the cliff and thrown off it. Alice is so traumatized by this that she throws herself off the cliff. Cora sees Alice fall. Hawkeye fires two long rifles at once. Chingachgook and Magua duel; Chingachgook wins.
