Jerry goes to the airport to leave on his trip. While in the airport lounge, he watches a news report on the murder and suspect suicide. But something about the case seems to be bothering him. He doesn't get on the plane. He watches it take off without him, drinking whiskey. He drives to a gift shop and asks for someone named Annalisa Hanson, the little girl's grandmother. He's directed to her apartment, around the back. The grandmother was the last person aside from the killer to see her alive. They talk about what the little girl was like.
