Julie stages Helen's body to make it look like she attacked her with a knife. Frank returns from going to the store to find his wife dead and Julie underneath her body. Frank throws up and screams at Julie asking why she killed Helen. He plans to call the sheriff, but Julie tells him they're in love. He goes to do it anyway. Julie reasons with him by explaining that the sheriff is going to think Frank planned it so he could be with her. Then Frank sings a song about it that he writes on the spot. Julie drags Helen's body out into the yard and digs a hole. Before burying the body, she takes her earrings back. Frank comes out and throws his wedding ring in the hole, then kisses Julie before the dirt is even filled in. They have awkward, rough sex right there on the make-shift grave.
