Dolezal takes Lane home. He tells her he's in love with his wife; they kiss but it goes no further than that. Dolezal gives Lane the money to return to the donors. The police arrive at White Sands to arrest Meeker, but he's run off into the desert. A helicopter closes in on him and Meeker's briefcase flies open: it is just filled with sand. Dolezal drives back home through the beautiful desert.
