The raid on the Dukes ranch starts at dawn. Intercut with the Rangers riding back. Perdita stabs Sgt. Armstrong in the leg and steals a horse and buggy. She tries to outrun Lincoln to get away, but he lassoes her. Tying her up, he asks her why did she betray them? She explains the bandits threatened to kill her family and that the bandits will cross into Mexico tonight. Lincoln tell Randolph that they'll ride for Mexico, George can take word to Leander at the Dukes ranch.
