Mary and O'toole, visit with Conlon. O'toole says she can't go home, she hasn't the money. She begins to sing a love song and is reminded of a love affair where she was foolish. The 3 walk their bicycles through town. Don Jorge greets Mary and asks her if she sometimes dances in the square. Conlon warns Mary that Don Jorge has a bad look in his eyes. The 3 ride through the countryside to a quaint church. In voice over Mary talks about her feelings for Francisco and prays to see him again at the church. O'toole asks Mary about her love life and then looking at the time, says she has to leave.
