Will chases after Thomas again and meets him on the river. Thomas has a note from Viola. Will reads it and is dismayed to learn that Viola's marrying Wessex. Will talks about the charms of Viola to Thomas and instructs him to tell Viola that Will waits for her in the garden. Thomas leans in and kisses Will before hoping off the boat. They've arrived at the De Lesseps estate. Will's stunned and then puzzled as the boatman refers to Thomas as a woman. Will chases after Thomas and climbs up to Viola's window. He confronts Viola, who's still in her Thomas outfit. Will and Viola kiss. Passing through the hallway, Nurse hears noises coming from Viola's room. She drags a chair in front of Viola's door.
