Michael goes outside and thinks for a moment, distraught. The gang packs up the money and hides it in a crawl space. The gang loads Hanson's into the trunk of Michael's coupe Deville. They drive out into the desert and dump goes behind an old trailer to dump the body. Two shots of gunfire erupt. Murphy drives alone, while lighting a cigarette he accidentally hits a coyote. The car swerves off the road and down a hill, Murphy hits his head on the steering wheel. In the middle of the night, Michael wakes up, sore in the desert. He limps to the road and hitchhikes. Michael is picked up on the highway.
