A battered Merlin presents the wrapped sword to Arthur. Arthur unwraps the sword, revealing it in all its glory. Merlin lies that Caliburn was dead when he went to go see him. He tells a tale of how he got the sword from the Lady in the Lake and that the sword is named Excalibur. Arthur hefts the sword, marveling over its craftsmanship. A flashback to the dead Excalibur floating in the water; she drifts to the bottom of the lake.
