Boone escorts Alex towards the boat, but the boat blows up. It's an ambush staged by Vacendak. Someone suddenly blows up Julie's car. Michelette has sent in a team of his own to kill Alex. Boone and Alex take shelter, Boone is fatally wounded during a shootout and ends up blowing himself up to take out as many men as possible. Alex hides in a derelict building. He evades capture by electrocuting a henchman. Alex manages to defeat the mercenaries and holds Vacendak at gunpoint. Alex demands to know who wants his body; Vacendak finally tells him that McCandless wants Alex's body. Because Alex saved his life, Vacendak gives him a five minute chance to run.
