Marty tells Marshall that he wants to be a wildlife filmmaker; he's leaving town. Mark and Marshall eavesdrop while Marty talks to their mother, she asks if he's talked to their father yet. Marty argues back when his father says no. Mark jumps into the argument and says that he's going too; their father relents and says they can go off for the rest of the summer. Marty and Mark plan and swear a pact, using a blow torch to burn themselves with hot metal. Marshall secretly watches them.
