Sylvie and Timmy, her autistic brother, are reunited. Then Sylvie tells Sheriff Rivers what happened: she got back from the mall, saw Timmy bloody outside the house, then she ran upstairs to see a man stabbing her parents. She didn't see him and he knocked her out. Sheriff and Jake confer. It can't be the boy who did the murder because he's too short to have made the stab marks. The next day, Jake does an examination. Dr. Harlinger interrupts and tries to examine Tim himself, but Jake proves Tim doesn't need to be medicated by tossing him a deck of cards that he catches.
