Romulus tries to keep himself from coming off as crazy during a cocktail party at the benefit. He meets Leppenraub, who tells him all great art is born of suffering. Romulus looks at Leppenraub's violent photos, filled with religious iconography. He accuses Leppenraub of killing Scotty Gates, but Leppenraub said he wasn't in town when it happened. Romulus apologizes to him, then hallucinates even more and has to go outside to get air. Romulus sees Leppenraub's lover Joey and asks him about the video tape of Scotty. Joey gets scared.
