The Halvorson Thing tries to escape in one of the all terrain vehicles. Sam says they should just let it go because it has nowhere it can escape to. But Kate tells him that isn't true. They pursue it to the site of the alien spacecraft. The spacecraft begins to take off in the ice. Kate falls through a chasm in the ice; she comes to inside an alien structure--a giant engine. Sam heads through ice caverns, calling her name. Kate finds a bizarre digital apparatus that she is intrigued by, but then the monster attacks her.
