Suddenly the confessional is shot at by thugs. El Mariachi and Sands escape into the church. El Mariachi finds his guitar, then smashes one thug over the head with it, and shoots the others with his guns. A woman praying in church walks down the aisle, then the gunfight continues. El Mariachi receives a phone call from Sands.
