The Regulators read about the shoot out in the next day's newspaper. The paper gives Billy the nickname 'Billy the Kid' and incorrectly identifies him as leader of the Regulators. Spying Yen Sun, Doc rushes off to talk to her, but Yen wants nothing to do with him. Doc gives Yen a message to pass along to Murphy. The Regulators are coming for him, they're gonna clean house. Murphy can't own them like he owns Yen. Doc instantly regrets the insult; he's trying to apologize when Murphy's men ride up and he has to hide.
