Billy is practicing his gun skills when he notices some riders. He starts to go alert the others, but slips and has another run in with the pig. Billy hides in the pig sty as the riders meet John and the Regulators. The riders turn out to be Sheriff Brady with John's neighbor Lawrence Murphy. Murphy accuses John of stealing from his supply wagon. John protests his innocence. Murphy takes John aside to where Billy is hiding and privately threatens him, letting John know that he has the local authorities in his pocket.
