The Empress dies. Monks run into the hall playing instruments. Pu Yi asks when he is going home. He is dressed in gold and put on a throne where men chant in front of him. A seal is put on parchment. Pu Yi flaps his arms and acts like a kid. He runs through the flapping cloth hanging around the palace, to go outside. He finds an army waiting for him there that bows before him. He walks amongst them.
