Darwin sits in the room crying. Then he is taken back home via carriage, going through the woods. He arrives back on a rainy night. Emma is there playing piano. They argue about Annie's death. They shout, he breaks through a door and he tells her he knows she blames him for Annie's death. She says she doesn't blame him. But she did let her go, something Darwin hasn't been able to do.
