According to The Kralahome's plans, the escaping trio come to a river on the edge of the kingdom that they must cross. Prince Chululongkorn leads the way across the bridge, but when Tuptim falls he dives in after her. The king is able to lower a rope from his hot air balloon and rescue the prince, then together they rescue Tuptim. The Kralahome vows that things are not over yet.
