The canoes go over a waterfall trying to escape Magua's men. Hawkeye and all release the canoes and get out of the water, trying to make it seem like they died on the rocks. They hide under the waterfalls, standing in caverns awash with water cascading through them. Hawkeye tells Cora that he saw her father get killed by Magua; he holds her while she cries.
