The police are at the crime scene in the snow. Jerry arrives. They examine the body -- she is a second grader. There is no sign of a weapon. Jerry tells Stan to check the buttons on the girl's coat for fingerprints. No one has told the little girl's parents that their daughter is deceased yet. So Jerry goes to their turkey farm, walks through a barn full of clucking turkeys and tells them the sad news. Her mother cries at the kitchen table; Jerry comforts her. The girl's father asks to see the body, but Jerry says that is a bad idea. Jerry swears on a cross to find the girl's killer. He makes a pledge.
