Nat returns home and gets caught by Amos. Amos and Nat fly away so as not to wake the sleeping maggots. Amos and Nat talk about having an adventure. Amos tells Nat he may not be ready for an adventure. Amos tells Nat about the time he came up short in trying to have an adventure. In a flashback to the opening scene, scientists put a chimpanzee into a capsule. A scientist swats Amos off of the chimp's head. Amos finishes telling his story, but Nat is asleep. Amos says Nat's time will come.
