Excalibur runs through a field to the edge of a lake. She gets in a boat with the sword and has paddled out a ways by the time Merlin catches up. Merlin asks for the sword, but Excalibur says she's throwing it in the lake. Merlin does magic and begins to turn to the lake into ice. He walks out on the ice as Excalibur continues to try to paddle away. Excalibur falls in the lake and gets trapped under the ice, her hand holding the sword pokes through the ice to the surface. Merlin grabs the sword and tries to smash through the ice, but it's too thick. Excalibur drowns.
