At the Longhorn Ranch Motel, Dolezal questions the manager and inspects the room the dead man 'Mr. Spencer' stayed in. Dolezal finds a note from Noreen and another from Goodman. Dolezal finds teeth marks in a fast food wrapper where a chunk of it is missing. At the morgue, they decide to cut the body open to see if the paper is in the stomach. They find the paper and although it's smeared, there are numbers written on it. Dolezal thinks it's a phone number because it's seven-digits; he tries several area codes. He finds one that rings, a woman picks up the phone. Dolezal tells her he's Mr. Spencer. She tells him 'he's four days late' and they were ready to forget the whole deal. She tells him to go to the Kachina Lodge at 8pm with the money.
