Bly and Bradenburg continue to jockey for first place. Against his handler's wishes, in trying to maneuver around Bly, Memo ends driving too close. When Bly's and Memo's wheels touch, the force sends Memo spinning out of control. Memo crashes into the railing, his car skids and send up sparks. Memo's car goes airborne, breaking apart. As it comes down, the main body of the car hits another race car and it is again sent airborne, What's left of Memo's car crashes down in a fiery explosion. Flames shoot into the sky and the carraige of the car containing Memo is tossed into a lake. Bly pulls off the track and swim into the lake to rescue Memo. Trees surround the race track catch fire. Memo is pinned in the burning wreckage. Brandenburg also pulls off the track to help rescue Memo. Bly and Bradenburg move heavy wreckage off Memo just in the nick of time. The fuel spilling out Memo's crashed car ignites and explodes in a fireball. A rescue team finally arrives to the crash site in a transponder vehicle and helps the men. A helicopter flies overhead, offering air support. A 2000 Mercedes-Benz ML comes to pick up supporters.
