It's just before the final game. Chester tells Julie that he's been calling Bess all week, but she won't talk to him. He hasn't heard from Matthew either. Julie points out that Coach Bull from the opposing team, is putting his players through a tough warm up workout. Mullen joins Chester and Julie goes to prep the players. Mullen says Kimberly stayed home since he wouldn't let her play. Chester says Martha is also a no show, Mullen gets angry. A marching band plays the Star Spangled Banner to signify the start of the game. Matthew shows up, he wants to dress as Martha and play. Chester tells him no, Chester wants to win, but loves Bess more. Matthew pep talks Chester and asks where Kimberly is. Chester explains that her dad wouldn't let her play, so she stayed home.
