El Mariachi sits in the town square picking a tune on his guitar and thinking. Suddenly he wakes from his dream. Lying next to him is Carolina, and he realizes he is chained to her. Suddenly shots fly through the window, and El Mariachi and Carolina run, jumping from the building. They hang from the balconies as shots echo from Marquez and his thugs. El Mariachi and Carolina land on top of a moving bus, and the bus driver jumps. The bus explodes as El Mariachi suddenly again wakes from his dream, and is back sitting in the town square.
