That night, there's a hard rain. Mr. Summers and Bobby are going back to where the badger was to bury him properly when they see a town fair in progress. Bobby asks if he can go buy and ice cream and Mr. Summers gives him money. Stuart, who's at the fair on holiday, spots Bobby. He tells him The Fat has been looking for him. He tries to keep him from running away. When Stuart tries to buy him an ice cream, Bobby takes off running.
