Ian keeps Sam from burning her hand on the pan while making pancakes. He kisses her and she burns her hand on a curling iron--that makes Ian worried that he won't be able to prevent her death. Ian has Sam walk a new way to see if he can avoid her getting splashed by a motorcycle. A man splashes her. Ian tellsSam he's already experienced all this. She thinks he's losing it. He tells her his watch cracks on the way to his office so they walk there together to see if that happens. It doesn't happen so Ian smiles and kisses Sam goodbye.
