Ernest drives back to the murder scene. He breaks into the hicks' home. One of them is trying to commit suicide, because he's terminally ill. Ernest tries to stop him, but he does it anyway, blowing up the house. Then Ernest comes up with a new theory: the hicks stole a pistol to sell to Alex, but they stole the wrong one. Alex said he wouldn't buy it, so they shot him.
